Women for Peace

Women for Peace

This non-profit organization was founded in 2017, for the empowerment/protection of women, set against the backdrop of the Community Forum against Violent Extremism in Raqqa.

This organization’s team consists of dedicated women who believe in the key role women can play in society’s advancement and as crucial partners in peace-building; in the importance of providing psychological and professional support to women as well as to protect children.

Built on the values of equality, participation, diversity and tolerance, Women for Peace has successfully implemented several campaigns in Raqqa, including the Hope Initiative to Support People with Special Needs; vocational training programs for women in such fields as computer skills, digital design and media; and organizing training workshops on women’s rights, as well as activities in sports, health, and child protection.
