Planting the roots of sustainable development and relieving the suffering of citizens is the purpose of launching the Dernaa for Development in Deir Ezzor, following its liberation from ISIS control.
Dernaa’s mandate includes infrastructure maintenance, promoting quality education, and women empowerment. The organization also promotes dialogue, restoring civil peace, and reducing the effects of conflict, especially among children.
Since Dernaa’s establishment, it has implemented a number of projects, including cleaning/rehabilitation of irrigation channels in the town of Sabha, in the eastern countryside of Deir Al-Zour, rehabilitation of water pumps, and opening the water channel of the new Agricultural Association in western Bakara.
It has also rehabilitated and maintained water withdrawal pumps to the Association of Jdied Bakara, Al-Dahleh and Sabha in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
